Global Trading Card Registry
The Independent Trust Infrastructure for Graded Trading Cards
GTCR creates an independent record around graded trading cards, helping collectors establish registration, check card status, document provenance, protect against theft, and eventually transfer registry records when cards change hands.
GTCR is free and open to all collectors — no account required to search.

Why Graded Cards First?
Graded cards provide permanent certification numbers, making them significantly easier to verify accurately. Beginning with graded cards allows the registry to maintain the highest possible confidence while laying the groundwork for future expansion.

The Missing Layer
Provenance.
prov·e·nance
noun — the documented history of an object's ownership, from the moment it was made to the moment it changes hands today.
In fine art, provenance — the documented history of ownership — is most of the value. Trading cards are now sold at six and seven figures. If cards are going to be treated like fine art, they need what fine art has.
Grading tells you WHAT a card is. Provenance tells you WHOSE it is.
Explore ProvenanceA Cautionary Tale
$1.1 Million
In 2017, a New York gallery was forced to repay $1.1 million after a trial turned almost entirely on whether a painting had correct documentation. When there's no proof, the void becomes the record.
Security & Compliance

GDPRThe Global Trading Card Registry is built on the Base44 platform, which provides enterprise-grade security infrastructure. GTCR layers the following controls on top of that foundation to protect collector data and maintain registry integrity:
Row-Level Security (RLS)
Every entity enforces per-record access rules — collectors see only their own registrations, watchlists, and transfers. Admin-only operations are gated by role conditions, so no user can read or modify another collector's private data.
Separated API Key Authentication
Partner integrations use two distinct keys: a read-only Trust Check key and a separate write key for registration and transfer operations. Keys are validated server-side on every request and stored as encrypted environment secrets — never exposed to the frontend.
Privacy-First Public Lookups
Trust Check responses never expose owner names, emails, or contact details. Public registry results display only card status, registration level, and report flags — collector identity is protected by design.
Consent Tracking & Audit Trails
Every partner-initiated registration requires explicit seller consent with a timestamp. GTCR logs the assertion trail (consent, partner ID, event type) as immutable CardEvent records, while the partner retains the evidence trail (the user interaction itself).
Secure Ownership Transfer Workflow
Card transfers use single-use acceptance tokens and time-limited pending states. The current owner must initiate, and the recipient must explicitly accept — no registration can be silently reassigned or claimed by a third party.
GTCR's compliance certifications reflect ongoing commitment to data protection, privacy, and operational security. For security inquiries, contact connect@thectca.org.
GTCR Disclaimer: The Global Trading Card Registry (GTCR) is an independent informational registry and trust infrastructure designed to help collectors and industry participants register, verify, protect, and maintain information associated with graded trading cards. GTCR may contain user-submitted registration information, lost or stolen reports, card status information, provenance records, transfer records, and other registry events.
Information submitted to GTCR may be subject to review, verification, correction, dispute, or removal processes. Neither GTCR nor the Certified Trading Card Association (CTCA) determines legal ownership or title, authenticates or grades trading cards, guarantees the accuracy or completeness of registry information, or represents that the absence of an adverse report means a card has never been lost, stolen, disputed, altered, or otherwise subject to an ownership or authenticity issue.
GTCR information is provided as an additional trust and due-diligence resource and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for buying, selling, trading, insuring, or determining ownership of a trading card. Users should conduct appropriate independent due diligence.
GTCR reserves the right to review, investigate, restrict, correct, update, dispute, suspend, or remove registry information reasonably believed to be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, fraudulent, improperly submitted, or otherwise inconsistent with GTCR policies.
